Luke Bryan’s What Makes You Country Tour 2018 made a stop at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC on Friday, June 29, along with special guests Morgan Wallen and Jon Pardi.
Morgan Wallen started out the show and got the crowd energized by playing some of his own music and hit songs that he has written for other artists. He ended the set with his popular hit Up Down (Feat. Florida Georgia Line).
Next up was Jon Pardi. The first thing he said was “Wow! It’s hot out!” And it was true. The Pavilion was extremely hot for the concert. He and his band came dressed appropriately with cutoff sleeves. He entertained the crowd with his hits When I’ve Been Drinkin’ and Up All Night. He played his newest single Night Shift which received a warm welcome from the crowd. He was energizing the whole set and was a great lead in for Luke.
Luke came out blaring with Country Girl (Shake It For Me) and got the entire crowd up on there feet dancing. He then cracked open a couple beers and drank them with the crowd. He threw cans of beer out to the crowd all throughout the show, it was great! Luke also brought in his own pyrotechnics which kept the show kept the show blaring all night and added a good effect to stage where he couldn’t have his whole stadium stage setup.
Luke continued the upbeat start of his show and switched over to some slower songs Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye and Most People Are Good. He kept the crowd engaged the whole time and brought the tempo back up when he went into Kick The Dust Up. Luke mixed in an acoustic part of the set by mixing a few songs into one. He played a few covers, from George Strait, Tim McGraw, and Joe Diffie. He went back into his music and ended the night with That’s My Kind of Night. It was a great show the entire night. I would definitely spend money to go to his tour again this summer.
PNC Music Pavilion was a great venue. There were plenty of drink and food vendors so you never had to wait in line more than a couple minutes, which was very nice. The same thing goes for bathrooms. It’s not easy getting into and out of that place though since it’s pretty much one lane in and one lane out so make sure to plan for plenty of time if you’re going to a show. Overall it was a great concert at a great venue!
