Dixie Chicks’ fans got some exciting news to start off their week! This morning the group announced that they will be stopping in the good ole’ U.S. of A. on their World Tour. As expected the internet went crazy when this news broke, and rightfully so. These ladies ruled the 90’s with chart topping hit after hit! So, in honor of the Dixie Chicks touring the U.S. for the first time in 10 years we’re looking back on some of the life lessons we learned from this group of awesome women!

Some Days You Gotta Dance

When life is good you dance with joy and when it’s crazy and chaotic you dance to shake off the stress. The Dixie Chicks reminded us that “some days you gotta dance, live it up when you get the chance”.

Cowboys Are Ideal

The Dixie Chicks taught us that we don’t want just any man to sweep us off our feet; we want a cowboy. Cowboys can take us away to the wild blue yonder where we can “touch the earth”, admire the horizon and “not see a building standing tall”, and “grow something wild and unruly”. Yes, cowboys are the ones that we want.

Sometimes It Takes Awhile To Get Over Something

If someone hurts you, you don’t have to forgive and forget right away. With “Not Ready To Make Nice”, the Dixie Chicks let us know that it’s totally acceptable to stay mad for longer than a day, week, month, or year when someone hurts you really bad.

We All Need Wide Open Spaces

“Wide Open Spaces” has become something of an anthem for anyone who is setting out on their own to forge their own path, make a few mistakes, and learn some life lessons. The Dixie Chicks let us know we were doing life right with this song, no matter how lost we might feel at times.

Girl Friends Stick Together

Mary Anne and Wanda might have gone separate paths in life, but when one of them was in trouble the other was by her side to help take care of it. Sorry Earl, you shouldn’t have underestimated the power of two best girl friends.

To join in on the fun and hear these life lessons in person, check out the Dixie Chicks’ website for tour dates and ticket information. Fellow Minnesotans can see them at The Great Minnesota Get Together this summer on August 27th, tickets go on sale at 10 AM this Friday!
