When you think of Minneapolis’ Fine Line Music Café, you don’t typically think of country music.

As of August 2013 things have changed, the Fine Line is now under new management!  One of the new changes, is you will now start hearing a lot more about country music shows coming to the Fine Line!

MinnesotaCountry.com listed band, Chris Brooks and The Silver City Boys were the first local country band to take the stage under the new management this past Friday night. Chris and his crew really showed downtown Minneapolis what country is all about.

From new Nashville hits, to classic country, Chris did a fantastic job! His whole band showed a high level of energy and the crowd was once again wowed at the multiple instrumental talents of Adam Schmitt. From playing lead guitar to pedal steel, and even trumpet on ‘Ring of Fire,’ Adam once again showed what a solid player he is in the local country music scene.

You also couldn’t help but be captivated by Chris’s mandolin/keyboard player Nick Champeau. Nick lights up the stage with his presence.  With the twang of his mandolin, it enhances the band’s genuine country sound.

Chris debuted Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” as well, and the crowd loved it. Not only that, Chris made sure to keeps things fresh and exciting by mixing some Red Dirt/Texas country into his sets as well.  With songs by Jason Boland and Casey Donahew, you really got the opportunity to hear what a great range Chris has.

Being the stand-up guy that Chris is, he also invited fellow musician Josh Persian up to the stage as well. Josh belted out Reckless Kelly’s “Crazy Eddie’s Last Hurrah.”  You couldn’t help but tap your feet to that!

Friday night definitely proved to be an excellent experience for everyone there. One can only hope that this will be the start of many country nights at the Fine Line.

Put your boots on Minneapolis, country just came to downtown!
